Breakfast at Tiffany's Birthday Party

When I found out I was pregnant with a little girl, the birthday party theme I most wanted to host was Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Little girls in black dresses, white pearls and sunglasses - how cute! Of course, I had to wait a few years and convince my sassy little girl that this was the perfect birthday party theme for a 5-year-old!

The convincing part was actually pretty easy, after she saw the picture of Audrey Hepburn in the black dress with the “small crown”. She was sold on the idea of getting a fancy dress and having a “Breakfast at Harper’s” birthday party.

I always love planning my kid’s birthday parties and this is definitely one of my favs! I started with cute, personalized birthday invitations from Etsy. From there, the happy birthday banner, cupcake toppers and treat bags all focused on a “Breakfast at Harper’s" theme.

For the happy birthday banner, I wanted to use the traditional colors of Tiffany blue and black. However, I think you could easily slip in a little pink or even some gold! I placed fun silhouettes of chandeliers and teapots on the end pennants. This same banner could be used for a tea party or brunch themed party. To give the happy birthday banner just a touch of sparkle, I place small white bows with jewels at the top of each pennant.

The cupcake toppers followed the birthday party theme with Breakfast at Harper’s, her monogram, a chandelier and ring. These all had a sparkly, black cardstock background to give it a little more shine.

The birthday party treats included pearls and sunglasses! The birthday party treat tags followed our birthday party theme with “Harper & Co.” and the date of her party. The same white bow and jewel were used on the birthday party treat bags to tie the design together. I also used the same cardstock colors from the banner, but printed on a vellum overlay to give it more of a girly feel.

During the birthday party, guests made their own necklaces, decorated jewelry boxes and designed their own dress. I discovered Picture this Clothing which allows customers to turn their designs into actual clothes. The girls loved this!
